The overnight tanning duo!

Good news for all those pale skinned girls out there: I think I have found pretty much the perfect face – self tanner magic duo! 🙂

1. Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booste (20€)

I can honestly say, Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster is the self tanner for those who are looking for a fuss-free, no skill-required self tanner.

‘From sunkissed to sun-drenched, simply mix with your regular day or night cream to gradually develop natural-looking, beautifully bronzed skin.’

The product comes in a small 15ml bottle. Seems pretty little product, but only 3 drops are required during the first uses and afterwards 2 drops every other night. I have seen the result on one of my colleagues who is very tan by nature, and after 2 nights applying the drops to here night creme she didn’t feel the need to use foundation any longer.

Now, I am extremely white by nature, and I do get fairly tan on my body, but my face, nada! So my current state is: tan from the neck under and very pale on my face. My face just won’t tan, only burns! I struggle matching my foundation with my body so face self tanners are essential for me during summer. (Besides, I try to avoid the sun at all cost on my face for skin aging reasons of course.)

Here are some of the benefits I find in it:

  1. Doesn’t stain
  2. No need for extra layer in your skin care regime
  3. No scent
  4. Provides a quiet even natural tan
  5. Buildable; made to measure tan
  6. Doesn’t clog pores
  7. 99.8 percent natural formula

2. Garnier Miracle Sleeping Cream (12€)

‘Golden Glow Booster must be mixed with moisturizer—never use straightfrom the bottle.’

As mentioned, this tanner is supposed to be mixed with you moisturizer. You can do this morning or evenings, but I prefer including it in my night regime so I wake up with that ‘golden glow’. The Garnier Miracle Sleeping Cream is one of my latest purchases and I’m-in-love. I’ve gotten so excited with this cream, and look forward using it now every evening! It is not easy finding an inexpensive night cream that actually makes a difference. At first I was very skeptic since it promises results after one night, but I have been using it for over a week and the results are definitely there: smooth, luminous, plumped and hydrated skin. The consistency of this is very unique: feels moisturizing like a cream but light, fresh and silky like a gel formula. The scent is also definitely heaven!

‘Enriched with Rare Plant Extracts & Adenosine, it energizes skin to help reduce the look of tired and dull skin so you wake up looking refreshed and energized. With Hyaluronic & Hydroxy acids, it boosts cell turnover and intensely hydrates. Night after night, skin looks younger, feels lifted and firm with a visible reduction in wrinkles.’

Here’s a photo of my skin before and after 2 nights using both products:

The photo was taken 2 nights after and it took me about 3 nights to get an even body – face tan. Since then I have been following more or less this little scheme, making sure I exfoliate and use a proper face mask 2 x week!

Have you been using any self tanner lately?
