This year I will be celebrating Valentine’s a day earlier, on Friday the 13th, yikes, doesn’t sound that good! Either way, wether its the 13th or 14th, when if not then on Valentine’s to bring out the pinks and reds. I put together a shimmery pinkish look that will last me from a walk in the park up to dinner and drinks.
First off, I used Kiko Skin Glow (sales €5, this was a limited edition but is still available on sale online and in stores.) It acts like a hydrating cream and just gives the most beautiful glow to the skin that works with pretty much any foundation.
I’m currently in love with this drugstore foundation Perfect Stay from Astor and its pairing concealer. (Foundation in 102 Golden Beige €10 & Concealer 001 Ivory €8) This is a great duo for the price; does not require a primer (the concealer also works as a primer for the eyelids), very easy to blend, long-lasting, non transfer and has an expensive-looking finish (comparable to a Mac one, yes I said it!). What is there more to ask?
Lastly I lightly powdered my cheeks with Benefit’s Rockateur (€34). I can’t imagine this blush not looking good on someone. It has some rose, gold and light browns in it. Once you get past the sparkly coat that is has on top, you get a velvety flattering rose gold color. I use this as a neutral blush because it matches any occasion.
Mac pigment (Rose, €18)) is a stunning gold- rose pigment but pink eye shadows are so not that wearable, they always look so pretty in the pan but then you put it on and you look like you got a bad case of allergies! But if you work it the right way it’s truly beautiful. The key to make it more wearable is to blend in some warm brown in the crease (I used Elf pigment in Naturally Nude) and defined the eyelash line with a matching eyeliner (Astor Eye Artist waterproof long lasting eyeliner in 084 brown, €7) that blends in nicely with the brown pigment but still gave some more depth to the eye. A pair of long eyelashes are a must for a flirty look. I used Max Factor False Lash Effect Fusion for length and Volume (€9).
This eye shadow look calls for a sweet pinky neutral lip. loreal Extraordinaire by Colour Riche in 101 rose melody (€13) is my go to lipstick when I’m wearing eye shadows but still want to have some color on the lips. I don’t have to worry about dry lips during the date and the color payoff last a decent amount of time and doesn’t move around. After a while you still have a light hue left so it’s a no worry kind of lip product, if you know what I mean.
How will you be spending your Valentine? 50 Shades Of Grey anyone?
