During Winter I’m more likely to be cooped up inside and enjoy the coziness from my home surrounded by delicious scents… Since I will be spending more time at home, I thought it would be fun to share with you a quick DIY on making your own essential oil fragrance diffuser. So scroll down and you’ll see how easy it is!
For one bottle You’ll need;
– 100 ml almond oil
– 1 dessert spoon vodka (optional; this will thin the oil making it easier for the oils to travel through the reeds)
– 30 drops of high-quality essential oils (low quality oils do not create the same long lasting pleasant scent)
– rattan reeds (beware when you buy them because usually what the sell is bamboo. Bamboo is stiffer and is non-porous; rattan is more flexible and has holes in the middle for the oils to travel. You can get them for a good price on Amazon or at a Rituals store where I bought them. )
– glass bottle with narrow opening (This way the fragrance wont evaporate as fast.)
I used a measuring cup to measure out the almond oil then added the essential oils with the vodka. You can create your own fragrances testing different types of essences with different rations until you like the combination. Once you put the reeds inside, wait for about an hour and then turn them around. Afterwards repeat this whenever you like.
I used glass paint to decorate the bottles, they turned out looking pretty expensive don’t you think? They also make for a beautiful DIY gift idea for the holidays.
Would this be something you would like to try out yourself?
